Scott Brown

Scott Brown enjoys a cold one
Q: Who are you, where you from, what do you do?
A: Scott Brown, from Glasgow in Scotland and I am a record producer/Dj. I am also label boss and owner of Evolution Records.

Q: How did you choose your DJ / artist name?
A: My mum chose it for me.

Q: Got into hardcore when and why?
A: I've been into hardcore since the dawn of time....basically cos I love it!

Q: How many track releases you have under your belt
A: Too many to count - hundreds literally!

Q: Tell us about your live act?
A: I play live on-stage with q-tex and occasionally on my own as an 'evolution' pa. Q-Tex features Gillian Tennant on vocals singing tracks such as 'Power of Love' & 'every time I close my eyes'. We also have choreographed dancers who help make up the stage show...

Q: What is your future plans for hardcore for the year ahead?
A: It's kind of hard to say cos I normally only work about 2 months in advance. I've just released 'Hardcore', a new mix CD by DJ Neophyte and myself. We plan to do a follow up later this year. There's also a few other album projects coming up but I can't say too much until contracts have been signed! As for Evolution and E-Plus, I'll still be writing plenty of hardcore for these labels!

Q: What are your current involvements or projects you are working on?
A: see above question!

Q: What do you think the future hardcore styles will be or evolve into?
A: If I knew that answer, I'd be a very rich man. Music evolves slowly, sometimes quickly - hopefully I'll be there when it does change.

Q: Favorite record label?
A: Neophyte (Holland).

Q: Favorite DJ (other than yourself)?
A: Dutch - Neophyte or Viper. UK - Probably Brisk...

Q: Best / favorite hardcore moment?
A: hmmm Difficult question. Probably playing at Rezerection Event 2 in Edinburgh. I walked on to play in front of 15,000 people and they started going crazy. I was walking along the stage to the dj box when this happened, even the dj's at the time (scorpio&producer) looked round as if to say 'what the ****'!

Q: Worst hardcore moment?
A: Having my records stolen. My car was broken into in Sheffield, England - my clothes, my phone and my records were all stolen.

Q: What you do in your spare time?
A: Same as most other people. Relax, go to the cinema, enjoy football, spend time with my girlfriend!

Q: You have a web site?
A: http://www.evolutionrecords.net

Q:
You have a public contact email address?
A: info@evolutionrecords.net

Q: What's your message to all the hardcore punters all over the world?
A: Stay safe and true to the scene..... without you, we couldn't do what we do!
