silver Are legal downloads in hardcore a good thing or a bad thing for the hardcore scene in general?

Comet I voted "Good" and not "Very Good" because I think mp3 stores are awesome for the fact that you can get a high quality tune for cheap instantly so you can play it that night if need be. But what takes it down to just "Good" is the abusement of p2p programs. People buy them and send them for free. Which is really not cool. But mp3 stores still help sales rather than no mp3 store.

alimcpill If you don't buy a record within a week of it coming out you'll never see it again. It's f**king ridiculous*, at least with legal mp3 downloads you can get a copy of the tune and burn it to cd or whatever. What really does my head in is the low quality of tracks you download. Shut up iTunes with your 128k aac is as good as 192 mp3. If I'm paying for it I want to to decide that I want a 320+kb/s mp3.

*yes yes I know this is cos of only pressing small amounts of copies cos not many units get sold, but it's still a pain in the arse!!!

bulby_g That's a tricky one really depends who gets how much $ in comparison to vinyl sales. Also I will always prefer vinyl.

SickPigRecords it means producers have to work harder for less money form cd\tape sale but untill vinyl cutters come down in price (i wish) things should be ok lol
coz anyone who wants to mix has GOT TO buy vinyl (i greatly dislike cd mixers with a passion i mean whats to say ya aint bought along a pre mixed one not to many mixed hadcore vinyl (off yer nut <----any advance on that) its witchcraft i tellz ya) but at the end of the day you shouldnt be in it for the money but for the love of HARDCORE

Dammmb i wobble shit some times lol

Samination Legal downloads are nice, but calling piracy crap and it hurted the hardcore seen is narrow viewed.

I dont think anyone outside UK (or only US and Australia) would ever know what the heck Hixxy is

Seany Good! I've downloaded a few tracks from Imdownload meself. :)

djDMS Good.

Comet's reply was spot on imo.

The system will still be abused whatever you do.

Arguably one of the best
whispering I think this is a good thing, time will show how well it works. If i ever use it, it will be cause i cant find a tune anywhere. Other then that, i like the CD's better :)

First time i heard about hixxy, was when i bought Bonkers 9 when it came out. Saw the TV commercial on this sites front page, was also my first "UK" Hardcore CD :) After that bought similar CD's, and started to come here more and more. After that have bought about 90 hardcore CD's, before that only had few Arcade ones that i buyd second hand. Didnt need any downloading... except preview clips and mixtapes :p

B.C very good. anything that makes hardcore more accessible is a good thing.

"Let's All Get Down!!"
Blue Frequency well i was going to vote "very good" but comets post changed me to "good". i definitly agree with him on the p2p sharing being an issue. but anyone who downloads hardcore for free is obviously not into the scene and wouldn't have bought anything to begin with.
