And I pour the wine
It's four o'clock
In the morning
And it's starting

"Oh my goodness gracious me, Badboy Dj, Wikkid Mc."
DJ Mouse but if you think about this, vestax pdx 2000 decks are supposed to be as good for mixing as 1210's,and they're supposed to be better for scratching. they're ok for mixing but for scratching they're not, been on some and they still jump about, even with concorde needles on.

and they got all these features on them to try make them better than 1210's too
there's a pitch reset button,mk3's have it
there's a reverse button,you can put one on 1210's
there's a startup and slow down time on them, and 50% pitch, but come on,what the hell are you gonna use those for when dj-ing???

and what's technics got that vestax don't have? full tone arm control,a quartz that you can turn to blue now instead of red. and you can even attach a vinyl cutter to them.
and most of all, they're industry standard, walk in to a nightclub what ya gonna see? 1210's.

vestax may sound good coz they got all those features but they don't come close to 1210's imo.

DJ Mouse In Da House!!!
DJ Pathfinder vestax are the same quality as sl decks

but the mk3 is better than the mk2 and looks also better.

the latest gemini is also of high quality

You can't see me,because i am the future.
DJ Mouse that's the point i was trying to make, but pdx are only as good quality as sl's in mixing, not for scratching

DJ Mouse In Da House!!!
Peter_Gozenya If you dont have techs your not dj ing

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
milo I'd beg to differ beetleboi, but not here =P

i have a set up numark tt-2's, they are ok. great pitch control but the motor, i dunno if it's my set or what, but it races spontaneously sometimes for a plit second. if you want something good but ur on a budget i'd recommend these. great breaks and start/stop time, but the motor can really mess thigns up...

"It's all good..."
Peter_Gozenya ISE, I beg to differ with you. I have a set of your TT-2s they have been collecting dust for a long time now. The motor thing is exactly why i got techs. Mine did that to me too, and i cant be having that BS. Its techs all the way. Besides the torque on the TT-2 is no where near the techs. The only table that can even get close enough to even touch techs are the new vestax decks. PDX 2000 (is that the right model #)

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
Oli G im stuck on this one too
not sure what to start saving for

the new standon 100's look sweet
im bored of technis ( i don town any but play on em live) and they only have +/- 8 pitch (ahem coff i never play to fast no never not me coff)

but the vestax pdx's look ownage
but ive played with em, but never mixed on em :/

need to test em out

\o/ <o/ \o> <o> /o\ _o/ \o_
Peter_Gozenya Oli, there is a simple solution to your speed problem. Pitch your decks most HHC djs out here in the states love to play on pitched decks instead. I only know of 1 person out here that does it and that is DJ Tronic. But do yourself a favor. NO STANTON all their products are trash in my opinion!!! The vestax's are nice and deffinatley have the speed you are looking for, but you give alot of sound away by going to a straight tonearm vs. a S tonearm. Plus techs have proven themselves time and time again as far as how long they last. This however cant be applied to the vestax tables since they are still fairly new. I say spoil yourself and get some used techs and have them pitched, this way you dont void the warrenty. The pitched technics i play on are -/+ 16 FUN FUN FUN HEHEHE

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
DJ Mouse decks race in speed when the pitch is on it's way out. it happens to all decks, even technics, but it takes a long time for that to happen.
just think what it would be like with the vestax decks, with 50% pitch, think how fast it's gonna race.
and yeh stanton gear isn't exactly brilliant, but they make good cartridges and done

DJ Mouse In Da House!!!
Peter_Gozenya I dont know i guess i just like to spoil myself with really good gear. The only needle i will ever run is the shure M44g. If I ever get into scratching then i will go with the shure M447. Shure is the best needle co. I think and Ortofons lick my sweaty *%#$

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
psychichigh mk3's would be the best

but if your just starting out, pickup something a little cheaper, like the newest gemini direct drives and a mixer with kills, and your set for just starting out to screw around

if your gonna turn it into a professional thing, make sure ya get either mk2's or mk3's cuz EVERY klub uses em

Well I can't speak for all Stanton products. But I have been using a Stanton S-700 dual CD-player for over 6 months, and it's truly been a gem. Hasn't failed me yet despite the constant use (and abuse) of bedroom DJing and club DJing. In fact, the only thing I'd trade it for, would of course be the Denons (cuz like the Technics do in the vinyl world, they rawk =) But anyway, this is a thread about record decks... so back to the topic at hand. Hehe.
