DJ STYLUS www.djstore.co.uk

Look out for the Package Deals, especially the Citronic range -

You light up another cigarette
And I pour the wine
It's four o'clock
In the morning
And it's starting
To get light
Simon Cheers Mate I'll check it out.

I aleays thought it was

you look like your in another world
and i can read your mind
its four o' clock in the morning
and its starting to get light!!!!

Brian K just buy 12s, if you enjoy spinning you might as well buy them now instead of having to save up and sell the old ones...

"do not dream, you dreamed about me"
Ruffage Wow, Sy doesn't even own turntables? How can he scratch so well then??

StrifeII its not the real sy..at least i dont think so.

ourhappyhardcore of course its not the real SY!!!!! lol , prbly just a big fan :)

MAX RESPEKTS**

sam eye am
Peter_Gozenya I agree with brian K Just get your self some technics 1200's now and save your self the headache of wanting them later down the road cause you will ;) Also if you do have techs, the resell value drops from the original price very lil, so if you dont like spining you wont loose that much $$$. Which is also nice.

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
DJ Mouse it's just saving really that's the problem,i had to sacrifice getting a car to get my 1210's

DJ Mouse In Da House!!!
Peter_Gozenya Yes they do cost a pretty penny, but well worth every cent in my opinion

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
DJ Mouse amen to that! i've had loads of gigs in my time, all coz of those decks.best investment i've made i think and i would recommend them to anyone

DJ Mouse In Da House!!!
StrifeII If you cant afford them i would recommend something from stanton or citronic. Exellent for the price. Stanton make a belt drive deck you can scratch on!!!

DJ Mouse my old decks were citronic, they were 13 years old and had the most awful pitch ever,it was just a little knob like the on and off switch that technics have, rotary instead of a slider. but they were the most stable belt drive decks i've ever come across,no good for scratching though

Webber So I'm gonna throw this one out their surely someone knows, Silver does for sure, but here in Japan everything operates at like 110volts. Luckily when I plugged in my reciever it didnt blow up since I had it set to 210, luckily I wasnt in the UK. But I know the 1210's run usally with UK power, so would 1200's operate here, or does it require an adaptor, I'd hate to be using my decks without enough power. Any thought?

silver I *think* SL1200's are dual voltage.

you, me and hardcore forever.
StrifeII the cheapest startup pack ive seen is a Kam 1 for 200 quid. The cheapest direct ive seen is Numark for 350. I would recommend spending about 500 quid for starter decks, buyin technics straight away is cheating [:P]

DJ Mouse my 1210's are dual voltage. 1200's are exactly the same but they're silver instead of black.
the voltage control is under the platter and to the left.

Alex_In_Wonderland I own a pair of Gemini SA 600's and for what I paid they are a damn good pair of direct drives. You can get a package with the PMX 140 mixer for about £400. People look down on Gemini as the budget end of deck manufacturers but they have made real improvements in image and quality of what they produce. Worth having a look.

Alex.
Lixx I love my Gemini PT-2100s. Absolutely no complaints - except that they aren't magic tables that beatmatch my records for me :)
-Lixx

Simon Thanks People for all the advice. I'll start saving immediately

and yes I am a huge fan of dj Sy but my name is simon and i have been called Sy since i was a little kid

DJ Mouse i'd say gemini's are closest behind technics and vestax, nothing else for that price comes close to gemini

GT Check out Stanton STR-8 100's. Got a blinding write up in Internation DJ magazine (here in England) recently, 4 and a half stars out of 5. A straight tone-arm is the main feature, and they've also been installed in some Ministry of Sound booths. Deffo worth a look.

Oli G Yeah the stantons ****in rock.. iwant a pair.. but i also want a CD deck so i can also drop in some tunes off cd and my own productions etc

Peter_Gozenya Gemini, Stanton -- They both suck butt!!! Stantons needles are crap so are ortofons as far as i am concered. Ortofons are ok if you want your records to get eaten up!!! They best setup you can have if you are just a straight mixer is 2 Technics 1200 M3d a Pioneer DJM 600 or a alan heath mixer, and Shure M-44G needles. If you are a Scratcher then you want the same tables but a Rane MP-44 Mixer with Shure M-447 Needles. CASE CLOSED!!!!!!!!

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
DJ Mouse i got stanton 505 needles and i think they're great, even with scratching,no problems.
as for a mixer,nothing too special but it's got 3 phono channels,which i need coz i have 3 decks (2x 1210 m3d and a crappy aiwa d90). it's a gemini ps-626 pro 2 and i can mix and scratch with it just perfect
a good cheap budget mixer

Peter_Gozenya i feel you on that one mouse, it is alot harder to mix on caca decks, the mixer shouldnt matter. I was just saying what the best was. I used to have the 505's (yellow ones right) they were ok, but they caused a lil record burn. I am not a one of those moron djs either, I know how to propely calibrate my tone arm and anti-skate. If you are a scratcher, you have got to pick yourself up some Shure M-447's They stick in the groove like glue with only 3.5 grams!!! the M-44G's stay in the grove a lil less, but no biggie, however the sound quality on the 44-g is AWSOME. The 447 has a tiny tiny bit less sound reproduction but the bass has a higher output than the 44-G.
You should realy pick up some shure needles and give em a try, I'm positive you will not regret it.

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
DJ Mouse i think that's why they're so good,coz they're calibrated perfect.
the amount of ppl i've seen with a 10p coin stuck on the cartridge with blu tack he he
i'll try out the shure ones once these cartridges have worn out i think
