Brian K you're tone arm probably isn't puting enough weight on the cartridge

StrifeII ive only got 1 but its a stanton str8-50 belt drive (best belt for scratching - )

ive tried to re-balance my tone arm but i dont thinkim doin it right so ill get my dad 2 do it.

the bad thing is the stylushas about a 3g pressure thing an thats the max the weight goes up 2.

milo I know what u mean, it's like aticking sound, but it has a ntoe to it right? if that is the case, what i did was raise the height on the tone arm. it might be your speaker/amp situation too, i got a new set and it works just fine now, no problem at all.

DJ Mouse here's how to set up your tone arm perfect:

bear in mind first that the counterbalance at the back can spin round, but also the bit just in front of it (the bit with the numbers on it).

this is the hard part, you must turn the counterbalance so that the whole tone arm is balancing straight,so the cartridge doesn't drop down on to the record or fly up in the air, just balances perfect in the middle.

once you've done that, turn the bit in front so that it reads zero.

for top quality sound turn the whole counterbalance so that it's reading the same weight as your cartridge. for scratch play simply turn it twice-2.5 times

silver 1. Your speakers are to close to your needles OR
2. Your earth cables are not connected corrected OR
3. The cartridge is screwed up or not connected correctly.

you, me and hardcore forever.
StrifeII i think it was a problem with the balancing, its still there but very feint. Still, you're supposed to scratch to a beat so i probably wont be able to hear it..

while were on the subject, if anybody bought the repress of take me away/six days on KFC 01, at the end of take me away about 5 seconds after the song ends, theres a little sample which is just like a spacey beep, well that's MINT for scractching with!! try it!!

I'M KING OF THE WORLD!! uh oh big wave!!!
DJ Mouse sounds like your cartridge then if it's faint and nothing else.
if you've got any mates around there that have any decks then see if you can borrow one of his cartridges.if it sounds crystal clear, problem solved
