good choice dude, i just started my self, since june of 2001 . Hmmm, basically all you need to know, is well, you just need to love your music, you can't spin well unless your in the right mindframe. technique is up to you, i taght myslef and wouldn't wish otherwise

same here,teach yourself. and i wouldn't advise to go on dj courses because they teach you how to mix but you don't get your own style that way.
or get someone to teach you the basics then work your way from there
