Any one got any good (free is always good!) sample packs or links to any? Just got back into the producing game and I'm a bit light on samples and stuff. Also years back I had a Slipmatt & Bunter pack and a Brisk & Dougal one. And a K-Complex one. Any one got any of these floating about, just wanted them back for old times sake!
Cheers

I have the Slipmatt and Bunter one. I did have the others but not now.
I think the K-Complex one I had might have been a free taster or something, I don't remember it being all that great. I also seem to remember the Brisk and Dougal ones being very dated and for some reason awkward to use, but it was ages ago that I got rid of it.
Just do a Google search for hardcore sample packs. There are thousands of free ones flying around with enough percussion samples, stabs etc etc.
I find the ones you pay for are not really worth it, the kicks and that are alright but the synths are far better coming from a VST, same goes for the bass. You're always left with stacks of samples that would never get used.
Also you get a lot of packs that have pre-made loops and the like, alright for breaks I guess but when it's acid lines and synth loops, rather than synth hits and samples, it's utterly pointless. Well, I think so anyway.
I have Christ only knows how many gigabytes of samplepacks filled with samples I will never use, or rarely at best. I deleted an absolute shitload not long back and still seem to have tonnes, but of a few different genres.
I'm happy to send a few bits though if there is anything specific you're after. |

Multi-sampled basses can sound better than coming straight from a synth I've found, goodbye phase issues and no need for multi-banding if certain notes are power-lacking! |

No, you're right, I do use more bass samples then I give credit for.
