MusicILove I have been using ITunes for years for music management & playback but it has many faults. So last night I decided to Google Winamp and see if I could download it and to my surprise it's back. It's now on version 5.8 but before I decide to spend hours adding and tagging my music I was wondering if there is a better option.
What music player / Management software do you all use for listening day to day? Mac Or PC.
Triquatra I use winamp, but I don't use any managment software. Just have the music in sensible folders.

When I say management what I mean is if you have WAV?s most software doesn?t have tags so if you want to play a mix CD how do you do that do you click track by track in explorer / finder or do you have all of your music in Winamp sorted and labelled with the correct album. So you get the tracks playing in the correct order.
In iTunes I had everything sorted and labelled but a failed IPhone sync destroyed the library So I never used again. I?m on android now so I?m not tied to iTunes.
MusicILove I just imported my music in to Winamp & scanned the tags and it?s a real mess. Winamp has read the albums as folder names I split my CD?s in to disc folders so I have 3495 tracks in an album called disc 1.
Samination PC: Foobar2k for tagged music files, Winamp for random clips I want to listne to.

Android: AIMP, since the Android version of Foobar sucks :/
Triquatra I just have the track number in the title I don't bother with tags, if everything was .wav i'd do it the same way.
Never got on well with tags all that incorrect tagging nonsense, trying to find the original track on the hard drive...
certainly would never rely on managment software that may go out of date or just doesn't know what its doing. Just easier to keep it in folders I find.

Triquatra course that does cause some issues I suppose, Cream Anthems 2000 should really be in with the other Cream Anthems albums in the house folder...but there's house and trance on the cds. Pffft. System ain't perfect but I'm happy with it.
Samination I dont mind managing software, or whatever you call the things MP3tag.de and foobar2k can do, but I prefer to manually update all tags outside the artist/title/album tags

I shall give Foobar2K a try tomorrow. For Android I have been testing black player. I like that it has the ability to edit artist & album info easily.
Impulse_Response foobar2000 with customized interface for library.
Media Player Classic for random files.
mp3tag for tagging.
MusicILove Finally well enough to get on the computer and give some of these a try.
Triquatra
I'm unfortunately too far in to my music collection to rename things in that style.
Samination
Tried foobar Couldn't get on with it Just confused me the second I opened it.

Other things Iv'e tried
1 VLC - I liked that it let me browse my own file system and didn't mess with anything I could of used it for listening casually except no continuous playback and no tagging made glancing at what's playing very difficult
2 Winamp after the first import went badly I decided to give it a go adding albums and tagging them manually which worked for a while until I found out that for some reason it's corrupting random .m4a files thankfully I'm messing with a copy of my music not the main collection.
3 I have tried others but none worth mentioning

Conclusion
I'm thinking of moving from my ageing MacBook Air back to PC and was hoping to find a new music player with all the features of iTunes without the pitfalls but can't find one that has everything I wanted. I'm going to go back to iTunes. I have cloud backup now so If anything goes wrong its easily fixed. Might just get a new Mac. Mac mini most likely as the current MacBooks are trash. or Mac Pro if the new one is any good.
kazukism92 In PC

Winamp for listen music
Foobar for transcode WAV/FLAC/Lossless to MP3 files (and organize the BEMANI stuff).
mp3tag for... ya know, it does explain by itself.

In android

Shuttle+ for listen music
Poweramp for listen music with advanced tags like ? (fcking special cross)
whispering I use foobar2000 at home and work for listening and managing the files (ie. write the tags etc). It's really versatile.
I rip CD's with Windows Media Player. On the go i use Sony's nw-ws413 mp3-player-headphones.

I too was pleasantly surprised a couple months back when I searched winamp and saw the update. Been using that since.

No real management for my files. Just have backups on different pc's.
Guest AIMP took over from winamp. 8 years ago when AOL sold NULLSOFT to some more tards that killed shoutcast and the development of winamp

MusicILove Gone back to my iPhone as android's screen reader was awful and the text size couldn't go as big as the iPhone. Still using iTunes. I have found a way around the issues I was having, and in the new update coming in September in the BETA versions I have tested it's no longer an issue. Nothing comes close to iTunes in terms of tagging files and ease of use. Also iTunes dark mode in Mac OS is fantastic.
Samination You like itunes for tagging? no wonder you're having trouble with foobar :P
MusicILove I know it doesn?t add tags to anything other than AAC, MP3 & FLAC files but I put all the DJ music in Rekordbox so it gets tagged in their. Because I have gone back to iPhone I don?t have much choice for management.

Also I?m particularly anal about my tags I fill in every field possible in Rekordbox for whatever information I can get my hands on.
Guest use https://www.mp3tag.de/en/ like most people, to batch convert filename's to tag's 1000s of tracks, and get rid of all the junk from the shops and covert art using custom search and match masks

if you want your tags to work on all hardware, go into the options and set the format to ID32.3 ISO-8850-1, which you can also do and convert existing tags, to the correct format with CTRL+A and save all
MusicILove No Mac OS version.
