silver 2004 has only started and we have seen a wave of new producers and artists come back to produce hardcore again, what do you think it does for hardcore?
djDMS I'm not sure - it all depends on their motivation doesn't it?

If people are coming back only because there's money to be made now the scene is strong again that would be a problem for me.

Fair enough, DJ's/Producers need to pay the bills and if that meant going into other genres that were stronger that's fine.
But to desert Hardcore altogether then return only to make a fast buck before pissing off again is totally wrong in my opinion.

There are plenty of people i'd like to see back in the scene but it would be easy to be suspicious of their intentions if they suddenly said they were returning now the scene is thriving. Some have good reasons for having been away but there are plenty who just left hardcore before they got dragged down with it - nothing to be condemned for really but if they were serious about the future of hardcore music they'd have at least stayed around, even if in the background.

There are more than enough up and coming producers (who deserve recognition and not to be overshadowed by "so and so is back") and old favourites out there to take the scene to the next level.

Seany Yeah like DMS said, as for their reasons for coming back ,As long as when/if hardcore plummets again ,that they stay with hardcore and dont **** off then im happy , The thing with all the up and comings is ok i think ,People coming back wont affect that ,Its better because the scene will grow faster and bigger and better imo......Its all good .

Xenochrome I have to agree with DMS on this one.

Ha ha.

Noted, recorded and posted on every website i can think of!!

DJ Mouse if everyone starts coming back into the scene then where's the room for the up and comers?

fair enough the returners gonna have some ready made material, and it's all going to be different styles - all trying something new and sounding fresh. and this can be good for the raves, more tunes to listen to and buy = more money in the scene.

but there's a cost as well, the up and coming dj's will get pushed aside to make room for the names everyone's missed for the past few years. and that's anything but good

Don't worry. As soon as hardcore's popularity dips a little bit they'll all disappear again.

DJ Mouse and then probably quite a few ravers would follow

Xenochrome Not the ones that truly matter.

Romney Going to be akward and disagree! Dont think it can be a bad thing everyone coming back to hardcore. You can only really play what people want to listen to and to be fair hardcore had lost its way a bit in the late 90's. They are all respected DJ's who have made good tunes in the past so you'd think they can bring something fresh and exciting to the scene.

DarrenJ I posted its great due to the fact that, even thu they might be coming back to make money or just for the rush or for whatever reason
they are putting out high quality hardcore
Up and comers will still come out and I dont think there scared of a old producer taking there spot.

So bring it on and enjoy the flood of songs while we can, even if its mostly gabber it seems

well I, I will, I will hardcore
SEEKY as long as they produce good hardcore tunes it does not bother me

Es , SPEED , TRIPS AND BLOW HERE WE ****ING GO!
Zuffy Ok i guess in some scense that it would be good to have happyhardcore making a come back...
But it could also screw it up all together i no happyhardcore as the clasic oldies in techno and lovin it...
But if you start putting new mixes in youd find it isnt the same anymore

genericrevolution its great that some of the old names are coming back... provided that they are doing it for the right reasons and understand today's rave scene!

Splix man i forgot about this poll but i rekon its good for hardcore

mark-ireland I think its great as long as the tunes are good and the artists arent just jumping on the bandwagon cause its doing well and as soon as there is a small decline in they F*uck off.

Sakkara It seems like most people think the Hardcore scene went away or something!!

It didn't, just look at Holland - DJ's and bands are thriving, the scene never disappeared it just went back to it's roots: Underground.

It got harder & more aggressive to keep the people who really matter interested.

The best thing about the whole Hardcore movement was the fact that is was non-commercial, and proud of it.

Just take a look at the charts from the last few years and you'll see that music in general has become weak, there are no original areas of music, just lots of cover versions & emulations.

Hardcore has something that 'Pop' music doesn't, it has character and it's only taken 10 years for most people to realize this.
N
ow we are coming to the point where after every other genre of music has been sucked dry that Hardcore is next up. We can't let that happen.

We need acts like Scott Brown, Hixxy & Sy to make the tunes so that new up & coming artists can aspire to be just as good, even possibly better, so that the scene can evolve. We need the scene to stay ahead of the Pete Waterman & Simon Cowell's (bastards that they are) of this world, simply to survive.

I think the scene is strong enough.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Sakkara
