Actual HHC is a genre itself, DJ Breeze produces alot of the trancy hardcore, maybe that's what you're hearin'. Alot of people think that HHC and Trance don't mix, [eye brow raised] although at my next event I'm doing a trance set when I usually spin HHC, what was I thinking...
guh, whatever... just as long as I'm still hired at parties and people like me.

oh mercy!!.its sooooooo not fast trance!!!!...trance is geigh and fluffy and well, kinda crappy.. (the fluffy "OMG IM RUSHING" stuff..hard stuff is pretty good)...but its NOT the same as happycore!!.....
happycore isnt all trancy synths and slow cloudy vocals or whatever...happycore is stompy loud bouncy HAPPY, fast fun and just wonderful!!!

most of the old trance from 99 - 2000 was top quality stuff..
i think the trance scene has gone downhill a bit of late...
the hard dance and hard trance scene is jus gettin better and better, but i gots to say.. none of it sounds like happy hardcore..
trancecore, slightly.. but waaaay slower !

HHC is just trance sped up, everyone knows that. If you slow down HHC songs you can hear the trance song they stole it from. Like slow down Rainbow Islands and BAM! it's Robert Miles "Children". Slow down Eyeopener and it's just Binary Finary sped up a lot. And Goodbye Summertime when slowed down is nothing more than a turbo version of Joshua Ryans "Pistol Whipped".
HHC people just steal all those trance tracks, speed them up and re-press them as HHC, it's pathetic... Bunch of thieves... :(

trancecore is that wicked shiz with all the best qualities of hardcore( the speed,beat,and bass ),and of trance (the synth riffs,percussion,and mood ) but HHC i would have to say is not fast trance.
Do you think the first person to make hardcore did it accedentaly by speedin up one of his trance records?

I was a full time trance head before I discovered hardcore just over a year ago now. I still love it but I think it's had it's day and is past it's best - that distinctive trance sound of 2000 is gone and in its place we have either very cheesy tranced-up pop sounds (think "Trance Nation 2003") and boring unmelodic housey trance. There's still some good trance tunes coming out (e.g. Oceanlab's "Satellite" is absolutely beautiful) but for me it's always been all about happy melodies and that driving kick drum which trance has moved away from, and hardcore provides by the truckload ;)
Another big factor, for me at least, is the scene surrounding the music. The hardcore scene is amazingly friendly and laid back compared to the trance scene. At trance nights e.g. Godskitchen @ Air it's all dress codes and attitude... there's no need.

I got into trance at in the same year as hardcore (1999) after hearing System F out of the blue etc and it was amazin for a few years but I think the new stuff has gone down hill. I still listen to my old trance cds now and then and ive got all the classics on vinyl. At its peak trance is better than hardcore.

i think hardcore trance alot of it does sound like speeded up trance, and its usually the cheesiest trance tracks that get the hardcore trance makeover
like dj sammy, noemi, orion too etc
but i love it all so i dont care!

Mate Hard Trance trance isn't that bad is it. I mean i'm into Gabba/Speedcore myself but I like Hard Trance (Not really into Trance E.G. Tiesto (Traffics a good tune though).

Trance became big in 1998/99 because of what was happening in Ibiza.
Granted the crowds were a bit more cosmopolitan, but compared to HHC it's still a young genre & will take a bit of time to recover from the comercial kicking it's taken in the last 3 or so years.
I blame Ministry of Sound & other labels for most of that, by changing the way they released their compilation albums from up & clubland floorfillers to chart nonsense (DJ Sammy, DJ Otzi etc to name a few).
There's nothing wrong with non-comercial Trance, it's a great genre for warming up newbies up dance music. They can drop a pill, feel the rush, se for themselves what they're missing & then get ready for the big time.
Generally people will progress through the many layers of dance music by building up their tollerance to a higher BPM until they end up like me - hooked on anything over 170!!
Trance is cool, it helps to relax after a monster hardcore gig, so I don't think it should be kicked to the kerb just yet IMO.
