dj XK~Azmodian~XK On the happy 2b hardcore chapters that he mixes it sounds super good. I am wondering how does he sound live does he sound that good because some of those mixes on those cds are just insanely good.

milo yah, i'm pretty sure they are done through computers and not from vinyl. live he sounds ok, nothing incredible, but the name and song selection really go for him. he drops a lotta big popular songs in his sets so it's gets poeple going.

"It's all good..."
DJ-SK8 Oh yeah the h2bh chapters are all mixed with computers, caus whe he's live he just go's from right-left-right-left and so on, but i'm sure that your all pritty sick of hearing about me bash Fagolishous Frolick!!!

My god how long have those mice been living your back fat?!?!?!
pacman i don't think the mixes on the cd's are that good. sure the beat matching might be okay, but mixing isn't about beatmatching. i think his mixes are technically fairly basic and boring.

drugs is not the answer... drugs? is the question... yes is the answer
davespice I've always found the H2BH albums good for the track selection, but the mixing is to be honest a bit boring. I've got a few recordings of him playing live at Hulabaloo though, live he plays around a bit more, more experimanet like - he also usually has an MC when he's live.

I prefer a DJ who really goes for it and makes a few cock ups to one that plays it safe and gets everything exactly perfect.

technopunkmusic Hey, look at that. The perfect topic for me to respond to. I just had the pleasure of talking with Anabolic and that interview is at www.technopunkmusic.com/article1160.html

It's kind of long but it's very, very inspiring. Good man, he is --

Don Giovanni Well I'd have to agree with what has been said. The happy 2b hardcore chapters do have great track selection but the mixing is nothing special. Not to badmouth Frolic, much respect for all that he has done for the scene, but he isn't the greatest of all happycore DJs. He's mostly a lot of hype. I've seen him play live here in Winnipeg, and ya he can mix alright, but i think our local happycore DJs here (Primarily Phosphor and Justrich...who are finally starting to get more noticed) can out mix him anyday.
HappyHardcorePuppies I think he is a good DJ as well although i never seen him live and i agree he has good tracks in his cds but i must say i think it has to do with his sound quality. There are songs on his cds that i never liked but when i heard it on another mix i was enjoying it even more. The last cd has a great selection but is sounds too bassy and rumbly and not enough clarity. I think Chapter 3 was the best in all of them because it was much more clear and captured much more detail in the music.

Leo
silver Yes the Happy2BHardcore CD's are digitally mixed.

you, me and hardcore forever.
Dj Tripnosis ya, i see him all the time live at parties, again he's allright i suppose, but not that great. Just not enough goes on , just track after track , slow boring mixing but beat matching is usually pretty good . It's a shame about the diggitally mixed Happy2bhardcore , a real shame ( in my opinion anyway )

-Hi, My name is Auto and i looove to get Blotto !! -
DreamShaker frolic's next cd is supposedly going to be a live mix from one of his hulla parties

jayson

Annex i'd just like to mention.. if nothing else, frolic is great for newbs to the scene.
If your just newly exposing someone to happy hardcore, the easiest way to get them into it, is with big name tracks like frolic puts on HTBH... PLUS! it gives them a sense of what they should buy raight off the bat, they can start by getting some of the HTBH chapters that they like... and see what they like

I personally enjoy frolic (by no means my fav
but what the hell right, makes me happy!

Potatoe
Tipsy oh, anabolic frolic didnt produce all those tracks?

milo he didn't produce any i don't think, maybe a couple across the 6 chapters at most.

"It's all good..."
Annex certainly none that i know of :)
(though that certainly doesn't say much) ;))

nah, to the best of my knowledge he just provided a very nice compendium of anthems :)

i still say power to the frolic
i find it hard not to respect all he's done.. :)

Potatoe
Lixx LOL. Tipsy's taking a piss yo! Frolic "co-produced" two tracks on chapter five and that's it, though his actual contribution to either work is questionable.
-Lixx

Heist Who started this nobshining trend of rubbishing frolic? without him toronto wouldnt have their largest hhc raves. So hes not that great at mixing, neither is your mum

www.mp3.com/djheist
Lixx Yeah, he's a money-grubber who's butt is kissed far too much for doing far too little (and sometimes very poorly I might add). He's the Oakenfold of hardcore, except he didn't used to be good like Oakey used to. So he promotes hardcore, I have stated that he should at least be given credit for that because hardcore doesn't get the attention it should in North America. But really, he seems to have made money for himself and Moonshine and hasn't put hardly anything into the musical aspect of the scene like so many other people who haven't reached anywhere near the celebrity status he's gotten. I'll hold my congratulations for the producers and the people that are trying to make a difference in the scene, not for those who just want to get rich off a bunch of candy kids. And his mixing is god awful btw, I swear he trainwrecks so much on happy hour he should be downright embarassed.
-Lixx

Annex screw it
i don't know enough about him to pass any real proper judgements....
i think what he's done is great

he's like.. windows
he brought hhc to people in an easy to get at format, that is of some decent quality, though of course not the best
now that you guys are all properly associate with hhc.. yer like the linux users of the world, who are gonna bash ol bill gates, cuz he's doesn't produce as quality an operating system as yer using....

anabolic frolic... is user friendly happy hardcore...
that's all there is to it :)

i think he's great in his way, and HTBH will always have a place on my shelf!

Potatoe
Tipsy I hate all of you for not seeing the sarcasm in my question

farchid i am not bothered by all this but bill gates is a pussy!

..._/-Cummin' up like a 747-\_...
StrifeII didnt DJ stompy mix one of them??

Hardcore Will Never Die
Lixx Are you asking if Stompy mixed a Happy 2 B Hardcore? No, they were all Anabolic Frolic
-Lixx

Lusive no, stompy produced all the tracks on them ~:P

| A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby." -Jack Handy |
DJ-SK8 Ok yes he does pramote hardcore, but there not realy raves, it's more like happyhardcore night @ the operha hous, he has no devotion to the underground at all. I only go to hullabaloo's to see the hedliners, and to talk to donny (d-minus), and watch how drunk he gets (last time he spilt beer allover my friend it was funny).

My god how long have those mice been living your back fat?!?!?!
