It's Freeform. So technically it is.
Si Thompson
Well.. Subgenre, anyway.
Samination
well back when I bought that album, I thought everything was Happy Hardcore anyways

It never was.
Rave music is massively fragmented in terms of labelling subgenres.

As someone who was new to the rave scene, it sounded the same to me :P
That's why my mixes from 2003 and early 2004 was very mixed with Freeform and UK/Happy Hardcore

Sounds good. I always like to fuse different styles together. Freeform and UK Hardcore go well together.

I always mix different substyles when I do my mixes, but not like I did back then. Let's say I didn't have structure and just played tracks together :P

That whole album was amazing, still great now. Remember seeing sharkey DJ at Glastonbury around the time it came out. Hardcore society mix of product of society is one of the best tracks I have ever heard... just excellent from start to finish.

I like that remix.
I picked up another version the other day which is similar, but arrangements are different.

This one by any chance...
Samination
Presumable they made the CD version sound more similar to the other tracks on it, while this one keeps it more Happy Hardcore friendly sound.

Did that version ever get a release?

No. It's different to that. That's the remix that was released on the vinyl album.
I'll upload a clip to YouTube at some point.
Triquatra
I think he means the best version! :D The one of Sound of Happycore 97!
thread definitely belongs in the 'hardcore' section! If it said happy hardcore or UK Hardcore, fair enough; but the 'hardcore' section encompasses all the styles under it!

No. It's not the original. It's a different version of the remix.
Mickey Init
Would be good to hear it then.
For me, the version I posted is the best around that I?ve heard.
Was it included in the HU Sharkey anthology release?
I still need to sort that one out.
Triquatra
Ahh yep - there is the exclusive mix that is in the completionist too! I'll pop a clip up now!
*edit*
there are only two in the completionist bundle but perhaps labelled incorrectly?
The 'happycore' version isn't included in the completionist, but you can find it on The Sound Of Happycore 97, unmixed. There's a bunch of Sharkey tracks and the Bonkers label that have appeared on beatbort too that aren't in the completionist bundle also, kind of frustrating. :/
anywya, still not as good as the 'happycore' version imo :P Feels a little too laid back.
Mickey Init
I do like that version and only have that one/original on vinyl.
I like the other version so much because of this set alone...
Perhaps the best HS 8-pack going.
EDIT: didn?t mind a bit of Man Parris back then.

I like the original and remix in equal measures. This 'exclusive mix' is ok, I will definitely play it, but it's not as good as the other two.
I'll get a clip uploaded to my YouTube account over the weekend.
Si Thompson
Tbh. The original and remix differ that much that they can be two totally different tracks.
Sulphurik
Not actually heard all tracks from the album - I have got digital downloads of some tracks.
Four tracks really like are Death By Stereo, Distant Dreams, The Awakening & Product of society (hardcore society mix).

I love 'The Awakening'. Such a good tune.
Si Thompson
As promised.

So, there's 3 version of e-nuff if I've gathered correctly?
The one Si just posted, which is from the Hard Life CD Album.
The Exclusive mix from the Sharkey bundle, that appears to be the version that's on the LP version of Hard Life
And then the 97 Happycore version?
I need to check the version of Hard Life CD that came with the sharkey bundle, but I can literally hear no difference from Si's video clip and mine own CD rip

The one Si just posted, which is from the Hard Life CD Album, thrown 'em in audition they're identical.

Correct - version Sy has posted is the version that is on the CD album!
I was confused earlier because I thought the CD album version was the same as the vinyl album version - but they're not.
So yea
Sharkey - E-nuff (CD album version) is correct in the completionist bundle Hardlife Folder.
Sharkey - E-nuff (LP album version) or 'exclusive mix' as the completionist bundle called it
Sharkey - E-nuff (Original 12" single verison, also on The Sound of Happycore 97) best version ;)
not included in the completionsist bundle, you'd have to buy the Sound of Happycore 97 cd to get it.

The original version on the 'Sound Of Happycore 97' CD was released on Club Kinetic (CKR2) in 1996.
