Does any one wear ear plugs while djing? i know they have special made ones that deffen things and don't kill frequencies (like airplane plugs). Just curious what poeple think on this topic and how they protect.

I have seen a couple of djs use em, but have no comments of my own on the subject. I dont know i think it would be kinda hard trying to mix with muffled sound, but that could just be me

trouble is with hearing plugs is that you don't hear as loud,so you turn up the volume, causing damage to the headphones and still not doing any favours for your hearing, well that's what i would be like anyway

i know a couple people that use them, however they play out just about every other if not every weekend.
damn sound systems have a tendency to deafen us old people after years of speaker hugging =P

well, there are custom made plugs that decrease the volume but not muffle the sound but mouse is right ud just turn it up to overcome the volume problem.. darn..

I got a pair that I use for djing specially made and they pretty much cut out flat freq. They are great for playing but when you're in a crowd it takes the edge off. No ringing in the ears when i get home tho!

being half deaf is part of the job being a DJ...

Seriously, it's real easy to stop your ear ringing when you come home from a party. Just make sure when you talk to someone you don't try and talk in the room with the music because the speakers are turned up to just under the max volume your ears can handle and someone yelling in your ear is what screws me up... if anyone wants to talk to me I take them outside or where the music isn't so loud.

you, me and hardcore forever.
