No, most likely it'll be the same ratio of drug taking as all other types of music.

There's no denying there was a boom, though. especially in the 90's with ecstacy leading the wave. I mean, I agree that people that listen to other types of music can fall into taking drugs too but the rave scene is/was well known for the high consumption levels at the events. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the so called RAVE act created to minimise consumption, which led to raves being shut down all over the U.S.?
So they must have brain damage, take drugs, or like in my case, have brain damage from taking drugs. :P

To be fair, the raves I went to back in the day id say about 80-90% of people there were on pills. I wasnt one of the 10-20%. The worst I can remember was HTID NYE 04/05 in Milton Keynes, I had sobered up by the end of the night but the same can not be said for everyone else. I can only describe it as - Dawn of the Dead nightclub edition.
Anyway, **** all wrong with drugs, I?m in my 30s now and completely fine.... oh look, a pink elephant!

I've never taken drugs or have brain damage. I just love hardcore for what it is just like cotts and ravine do. I can't speak for them if they did drugs or not but I have a feeling cotts doesnt

You asked, I answered. somewhat sarcastically.
of course there are people in it for the music only. I will mostly put myself in that category, too.
Music came (was present) before the drugs in my life and even now, after more than 15 years of not taking any, music is still here.
If anything, I'd like to keep it that way.
