I was wondering what programs people use to record their mixes onto computer. The one i'm currently using eats up all my memory and crashes my comp after about 30 minutes.

Make sure you have enough HD space before you record. I bought a copy of Cool Edit 2000 and it works great for me.

I use Soundforge. It rox. The new version has CD burning built in so all U have to do is record, normalize, compress and burn all out of Soundforge and U have a great sounding CD.

I didn't really like Soundforge since, at least in the version I had, you couldn't see the levels. I use a version of Cool Edit. The one before 2000 I think.

soundforge is best easily, and with v5.0 you can see your levels too. the only downfall is you have to buy the mp3 plug-in for it

i agree that SOUND FORGE kiks azz. its all i use now and it never lets me down. some other programs would freeze up on me and stuff.

some programs just dont get along with some computers.

what silver said is major important. "Make sure you have enough HD space before you record"

you may need to pick up more RAM as well. at the future shop you can get 256 RAM for like 50 dollars canadian now. not like when i paid 150 a few months ago. damn.
