I'm amazed at the fact that he didn't quit like a decade before, when things turned ugly at camp Quosh.
30 plus active years as a pro DJ, I can only imagine the exertion.

Such a good DJ. He's been a huge part of my life growing up with Hardcore. Sy & Vibes were always the two first tapes I listened to out of any pack I bought back in the day.

Once upon a time news like this would have had several multi-page threads.

Sy's already has his once-in-a-lifetime multi-page killer

I think he's playing for Alex MC Energy in September. I saw a Club Kinetic post the other week.

Looks like this was a load of BS. Sy is now appearing on flyers for 2026. He also played at Kinetic last month.

just because you retire doesn't mean you can't do sets.
I'd presume he only hanged up his active djing.

So it was BS then. He cancelled all his gigs for New Year's Eve. He apparently has raging tinnitus. He said he's fed up of the travelling, and after 35 years of DJing he'd had enough. Now he's suddenly ok with all that.
I'm as much of a DJ Sy fan as the next person, but if you call it a day, just stay retired.

He had already stopped DJing full time post 2012 when all of the trouble with MC Storm started, so he was only playing now and again for certain promoters since then. His full time job since 2012/2013 has been property development.
