ive just been through happy hardcore.com shop and compiled a list of $500 worth of vinyl im gonna be purchasing next week....the thing is, im not going to have this money till next week, so ive got all of the Cat numbers saved in a text file and its going to take me a while to go though the search thing and check them all...and what if i missed some?!? especially new ones

So...I was just thinking how useful it would be to have a type of "wants list" in the actual shop, so other users (and myself) could mark down all the vinyl they want, and then when they log into the shop they could check they're "wants" list and tick ones they wanted to buy..
i realise there is this sort of thing in the "records" section of happyhardcore.com.

but to have a wants list in the shop would be incredibly useful. you could see if they're in stock, and it would just take a click of the button to add to the basket...

that way, everyone could go through the shop, through all the vinyl adding the ones they want to they're want list...and then save it..and then day by day, week by week, they could go through buying what they marked down...and adding new releases..

did that make any sense? - i guess amazon.com/.uk do somthing a bit like it

:) just a thought

This is one of the best ideas i've heard on this board ever!
Me too have a number of text files with records I want to buy. And since there already is a "want list" on the site it should be easy to get it to work with the shop.

finnaly som active use for the record database!

hey, glad you liked my idea hehe

at first i was thinking they could use the database thats already in the site, but then again, it would make more sense to just have a separate wishlist in the same style as the shop within the shop walls - so then you could see if the item is "in stock", use the same shop search and it wouldnt return loads (thousands) of tracks that the shop didnt have - just the hundreds that the shop does have :)
if that makes sense...its like 2am here and im tired - so appalogee's if it dosnt. lol

yes, but I still think the existing want list should be merged with the shop, that way you can add tracks that the shop doesn't have and if they ever get it in stock you can be notified by email.

This is just such an brilliant feature, a wishlist with email notification would be great and you should be able to sort the list in diffrent ways, maybe even give each release a priority (based on how bad you want that track, score 1-5 maybe?) that way you can, within a few simple clicks get a list with the tracks you want the most and that's currently in stock.

There's so many thinks you can do with this....

gotta say that is an excellant idea, linking the record db with the store would be beneficial to everyone on so many levels.

hehe - i still think that linking the db would be too much, all we really need is a way to click "add to store wishlist" and then it would save it in the shop for next time you came back.

i wonder if that is practical to hold records for people, would probably hurt business, maybe an alert letting you know it's in stock and to get your butt in gear?

oo, i never ment hold lol, the shop usually keeps the same pieces in, and adds new ones, if an item ever went out of stock it would say so like
"item is in stock" - "item out of stock"

but because it would only ever show titles that the shop has in stock/had in stock, it would mean that the shopdatabase wouldnt be immense (like the main site database is)

I use a wantlist in 3 stores, none of them actually hold the records. hhc.com has like 67,926 items in stock, its just stupid to go through all of it everytime you order. Better would be a wantlist, where you could add records everytime you find an intresting one and when you finally have money, the records you know you want will be nicely in one place.

We are currently doing this, but we have to cross-reference all items ID's in the database with the shop ID's which takes time... Comet is the main man here.
