I've only seen a group of only 5-6 skaters who are all friends and go to the same school in my neighborhood. There's no skate-parks or anything around here so...I don't know if they're considered cool, real skaters or not.
The other day I went to this fair and they were there with these 2 girls. So I got a look at one of them and I was like, I've seen her before. And I remembered that a couple of months ago when I was walking home from school, that girl walked up to and was like, "Want to know a secret?" And I said, "No...?" And she made this like fukcing rooster sound in my ear! God damn it I was about to slap her but I couldn't. Jeez, I didn't even know her!!
But yeah, those skaters-boys are not cool, LoL, if they hangout with idiots like that.

I was watching the Rasmus-In the Shadows video the other day and I told my sister I liked it. And the band looks all goth you know? So I was like how come the music doesn't sound heavy or dark or anything? And she said, that's goth music...they're into fairys and stuff like that? ...I don't think she knows what she's talking about.

So, what kind of music do they listen to anyways? Do they believe in Wiccan or something??

a wiccan is of wicca
as
a christian is of christianity

the whole goth "thing" is based on individuality, to be oneself and not following a trend/going with the mainstream crowd)
IE: you dress in what you want (not what the media preach is cool) and have your own views on differnt aspects of life, politics, religon (often other than what you we're brainwashed to whilst you we're growing up ;))

this being so, goth can incorprate lots of differnt styles of music, religons ( including christianity) political views and attitudes.

amusingly enough, given this criteria/the principles of goth - I fit it quite well (lol)
I am myself, i dont let people tell me how to be, i have my own religious and political views, i grew up in an area in which everyone hated dance music, so i was completly following my own path there, and not going with the crowd..
AND! - i have a tendancy to wear darker colours ;)
hehe

heres some more detials
http://www.goth.net/goth.html

i have...one, yes...i think, one goth friend, and he's a sound geeza :D

As for Wicca, its a religion. They believe in the nature and stuff... If your intrested check http://www.witchway.net

Couldnt agree more....I play hardcore music all the time, but dont call me a raver ( I have this thought that its named for people who go to raves all the time and wear bright clothing). I also love cars and speeding doing the highway, but dont call me a racer. If i affiliate myself with one group, then all stereotyes will natuarally come with it. I dont know much about hippies or goths so i cant speak for them...but you fall under whatever catagory you present yourself in...just deal

Dude youre not the only one who listens to hardcore and skates. Ive been skating for about 2 years and listening to hardcore while skating gives me energy to do stuff and makes me feel good.

What i cant stand though, Is Commercial dance, and all my skater mates think that thats what I listen, to and I dont.

I listen to a lot of punk, But not punk rock like blink 182 and Yellowcard. More bad religion etc..., Also, old rock is cool, Aerosmith etc.

Anyway, DJSeeky, all I can say is youre a twat. you sound like the biggest chav there Is. Of course, you are right, skating isnt fun at all, Thats why thousands of skaters do it. What do you do all day then thats so very exciting?

Gah.

Peace - darrel.

i used to be really gothed up when i was younger (will try and post pics for everyone's amusement haha). A few years down the line now and im spinning hardcore, are you saying i used to have to "get a f**king life" but now im ok? haha

how much of a prick do you think someone that stereotypes you as a raver who listens to repetative music and munches pills every weekend is? cos thats exactly what you're doing to them DJSEEKY.

Simon's right, there's excellent music in every genre and usually a look/lifestyle that goes with it, but dont count on it being true for everyone of that scene, people are individuals no matter what they listen to.

fair play hooverlover for skating and liking hardcore , alot of the skaters round town here in bristol are into types of jungle/hip hop..... would be cool if we were all flying round on skateboards at raves though!

Saying skateboarding is for just for kids is just wrong. It's not even good enough to be an opinion.

Firstly let's get away from stereotyping a skateboarder. Stereotyping sucks anyway. For example, all ravers aren't crazy drug addicts, right? All Manchester United fans aren't narrow-minded, arrogant, ill-informed glory hunters, right? Just as skateboarders aren't all kids in baggy clothes wearing Nirvana and Blink182 tops - Go to any skatepark across the world, or watch 10 minutes of any skate video to see that.

Like it or not, skateboarding is a popular extreme sport, and is a bigger industry than both snowboarding and surfing, but as a sport should not be considered too different to either in terms of age groups that participate. After all, it's very similar balance and skills required and some of the same tricks appear in all 3 sports. Also, the average age of a professional in Snowboarding and Skateboarding is the same - about 25.

Anyway, repect to all the skaters out there, and never let someones lack of knowledge or prejudice dictate what you should enjoy doing, how you should dress and what you should listen to.

I'm with Seeky on this one, I too do not like hippies or skaters or goths or whatever the **** there called to me there just bored little kids that can't afford clothes that fit, and to call skateboarding a sport well that just makes me laugh everytime. I don't think your going to see Seeky going to any skate parks or actually buying a video on skating (watching that would just be torture and a waste of $$$$) As for the professional skaters their wankers as well they sit and talk about the injuries they've had ("I broke both legs,my arm, broken two bones in my neck ect ect ect who really gives a **** too bad they did'nt get dissabled in the process) as if it makes them hard or something.

**** ALL SKATERS YOUR ALL WANKERS WHO NEED TO GET A LIFE.
