Bonkers 17 was a flop because it sucked. Compare B16 and B17 and the quality of the tracks. 2008 was one of the worst years ever for Hardcore production wise. However some of the newer stuff coming out IS pretty good, and I give Clubland 5 a 7.5/10. I was expecting Clubland 5 to really be horrible but it wasn't. Darren Styles CD on there though.. not so much.

okay everything you just said is so wrong.

Agred i thought bonkers 17 was pretty good but cant stand CXH5 complete waste of money...but I guess thats just my opinion

Just to make one thing clear i did not start this rumour, was pasted to me on msn and i came on here for some clarity. I think Brisk is a top dj and would be a major loss if he did have to call it quits

you started the rumour on here idiot

hense the reason it wasnt a flop - regardless of what you thought of the music on it. :)

it was still up to bonkers standard - look at clubland hardcore 5 (if you can cause you're in the states ;) ) THATS not up to bonkers's standard. would you care to name a better album from the last year and a half?

Hardcore Euphoria and Hardcore Underground stick out in my mind. Bonkers 16 was really good. Clubland is hit or miss. It always has been. But there are a lot of really GOOD tracks. I especially like certain tracks on the Hixxy bonus CD's. Not every single one but a lot. And I always find myself leaning more towards Breeze mixes than Styles mixes. Don't get me wrong Styles is amazing. I just like Breeze's CD mixes/track selection more. I wish Breeze & Styles would produce more tunes. They make for a dynamic duo.

Not into this whole new electro hardcore type sound really. 2007 was when it really started changing for me. I miss labels Electronica Exposed, Elation, Future Dance, Go Mental, Just Another Label, KFA, Maximum Impact and Switched ON just to name a few.... while some of them are smaller labels they all made a big part of what was lacking and filled huge gaps style wise. I've been listening to hardcore since about 00/01 and started bedroom DJing in 02. I loved the stuff coming out then. That's right when "HAPPY" died and it started sounding way trancier. Everything was greet back then. I had a few older 95-98 tracks and liked but wasn't all that apeshit about it.

Then I heard Eyeopener Earcloser and Eurolove 2007 and started spinning 95-98 stuff buying up old Essential Platinum, Next Gen/BB, Quosh and went through a phase where I was obsessed with the stuff. I didn't buy many new records in 2008 and wasn't very interested.

There's some new good stuff to be had these days though. There's a ton of good unreleased stuff. Just gotta look harder now.
