And I think this is very good to arouse future ravers in this genre. I roll my eyes, every time I see a big bunch of youngsters, who visit events like "The Dome", where they only get trashed by chart music.
This isn't a rave, and never was meant to be one. Nobody forces you to visit such concerts, but tmo it's a great way to get introduced to Hardcore music. Think bigger!

The Clubland live events have sold out loads of big arenas to people of all ages, not aimed at youngsters either - plenty of grown ups like the music too!

Yeah I've got friends in their late 20s who went to this exact concert I think, or at least one of the clubland ones.

The thing I don't like about clubland is it's just such a massive cash cow really, I'm afraid I have to disagree with you Warnman, I don't think this is a good introduction to raves because I think raves should be about freedom of expression from the DJs and playing music that doesn't have mainstream exposure but instead Clubland Live is performing dance music chart 'hits' to a large hall of people. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I think it's a million miles away from anything rave-related.

I'm not trying to come across as elitist or exclude people from the rave scene (the more the merrier IMO) but I like to stick quite closely to the core values of the rave scene because I would hate for it to be forgotten, a rave isn't just an all night dance party, a rave is a sign of the times, that people want to hear something that you can't hear anywhere else. I think that's why I like the psytrance scene, it's still so unnacceptable to have psytrance in clubs and on the radio that the only way to really enjoy the music is to get out there and find it and make a proactive effort to enjoy it with others.

@NekoShuffle
Please interpret my posting in a more minimalistic way. I only was facing out the possibilty to get people (especially youngsters, who are on a search for their personal mission in life) interested to this genre. If you aren't aware of the existence of this genre, you probably never will get interested in doing some researches about it and maybe becoming a Hardcore raver. And this is the point, where I think such events and someone like Darren Styles can be a connection part.
This concert might be very commercial, but it's better than wasting your money, simply joining concerts of Lady Gaga and other sh*t. Nobody was born Hardcore!

This is a very valid point.

Agreed, like I said I don't think it's a bad thing but I don't think we need to train kids up to be ravers really. And especially not using club music. But from a purely musical standpoint yes it may open their eyes. I think we're both perhaps confusing scene and music too much.

I find it ironic that people are so against Clubland stuff when Hardcore is exactly the same stuff, often worse.

Yeah that's what i thought. People aren't going to these events because they don't know any better and need to be shown the light and ditch their evil ways by going to Hardcore raves. They like the music. Hardcore as it is now is not a good alternative by any means either.
