 |  Posted - 2003/07/29 :  22:32:07     k i usually have two boxes .. one for my music programs , and one for the internet.... right now the one i use for the internet is on loan and im real anal about puttin internet into one i got my good soundcard and all the programs in   any suggestions as to which anti virus program works and isnt a virus itself

 ive had it but someone told me to get rid of it cuz it would do me more harm than good!!  anyways thanks for the info ..

 I had Mcaffee and lost everything to a virus. I now run Norton Pro and have not had any problems.

 |  Posted - 2003/08/04 :  03:38:57       wow, heh. I use virus scanners on all the other pcs but not my main/gaming pc. Pisses me more off than the actual virus's did. However, yes, norton anti-virus is a good solution - never had any problems with it on any of the pc's I've used.

 |  Posted - 2003/08/05 :  05:22:56     well i own 2 computers, and i run different programmes on them both, on the first computer i am running norton anti virus 2004 there are no problems with it and it has many good fetures including an ip tracker. so if people try hacking into your computer, you can trace where it came from!!!
 The other is Zone alarm Anti Virus wether any 1 has heard of that or not, but that is also very good, it has an option to block all cookies, banners and pop ups, but your best choice would be norton more reliable

 |  Posted - 2003/08/05 :  08:49:44       I used to use Zonealarm, but I thought it was only a firewall, not an anti-virus program also. I used to also use Nortons. but I know use Agnitum as my firewall, and AVG for my anti virus software. A lot safer I am know

 |  Posted - 2003/08/05 :  18:14:29       IP tracker doesn't do crap if ther person attacking you is smart. A real hacker/cracker uses a proxy/anonymouse provider which doesn't forward the ip of the hacker. Simple. IP tracker is useless against those.
 
 But for kiddie's who like to hack over IRC and IRQ then you might pick up somthing. But even then most of the IP's from kiddies are dynamic (meaning that they change) as they are most are dial-up users.
