Car boot sales ftw. I think he meant is it a vinylrip in the sense that some of the tracks that made it onto cds back then were also just vinylrips.

well it does sound a little distorted in places, but how that is relatively speaking compared to the react test 5 version I dunno...yet - just bought it and it'll be here soon :P
(bought cd version cause I ain't paying 9GBP odd for the lot when I can get it for 50p off discogs :D
i'll fire a copy over to cdjay when it gets here anyway so if it is better the completionists will all get it.

Yea, I noticed that some of the older tracks on the sharkey album were vinylrips, and like Triq said, some CDs (like the HTID ones) have vinyl rips on them, so my question was if the React Test 5 also was one. And with your sample comparison, I can't hear any audioable clicks in the middle section (the part after the intro).
and now I at least know that she doesn't pronounce the k in sky sometimes, and not a fault in my own vinyl rip :P

React Test Five arrived, the verison of Rainbow Islands on it is definately a digital version as oppossed to a vinylrip - and the quality is much better so I've passed it on to CdJay so the completionists will get it! So don't fret about buying it separatedly if you are a completionist! :)
though I must say the rest of the compilation (React Test Five) is really good, think I'm going to pick up the others too.

Considering Hixxy's harddrive crash (or was it only UFO's?), I highly doubt that Hixxy has anything left from before 2010. And I doubt we'll ever see anything new from this collection, other than a few tracks from the Bonkers label (not the albums)
