With most hardcore labels in final stages of signing with new distributors for their releases and nearly all labels receiving multiple distribution offers from other established distributors hardcore is looking stronger and demand is higher than ever for a 2008 reboot!
In addition to this, hardcore producer Scott brown has posted an insight into the recent Resist and Amato bankruptcies and given his views on a great new 2008 for hardcore.
Amato were bought over by a company 'Unique' who seemed to run Amato into the ground, leaving all it's staff and labels stunned when they closed doors 2 weeks ago.

As for Resist going down, this was NOT a direct result of hardcore. Bad sales in general, massive returns on some other dance albums coupled with a huge MCPS bill forced the company under. Hardcore got hit hard, but what could we do...
This isn't the death of hardcore, merely a new beginning and a fresh start for 2008. Exciting times ahead...

Hardcore album Hardcore Underground 2 is missing In action, it hasn't turned up in stores, missed 3 release dates and the Hardcore Underground crew are franticly trying to find a solution to the problem. We can't give you a 100% release date right now, but we'll keep you posted when it does arrive onsale.
Hardcore Underground 2 is a 3 CD album release mixed by DJ's Kurt & Stormtrooper Fracus & Al Storm Darwin, Arkitech & NuFoundation with a release date of around 26th of November 2007. The album can be ordered direct from Amazon now (but we don't know when it is shipping).

Amato distribution bankruptcy update - new distribution setup

Good news to report for once, the latest in the Amato Distribution bankruptcy has a some of the top hardcore record labels planning to move to a new distribution outlet.
Nothing is set in stone yet but a few labels have already been invited to the new distribution and negotiations are underway to get releases in stores or already ready to go before Christmas which is good news for record stores and customers. We'll have more once details are worked out.

Resist music bankrupt - confirmed

November 2007 is shaping up to be a bad month for hardcore, first Amato Distribution does bankrupt and now Resist Music, makes of the CD series Bonkers & Hardcore Heaven just to name two hardcore titles.
We had been hearing rumors all weekend about this information but waited to confirm before posting anything. We've confirmed via one of the major artists that worked with Resist that the company has indeed gone bankrupt with emails to staff also auto returning saying they no longer work there anymore.
What does this mean for hardcore music? Resist owed quote a bit of money to a lot of hardcore producers / labels and other people and this coupled with Amato Distribution going bankrupt has left quite a few high profile hardcore artists and labels owed a ton of money. This is ripple down effect and you will find that some hardcore producers and labels will also go bankrupt or just stop releasing hardcore, you will also find some hardcore producers will simply stop producing hardcore because they can't afford to produce hardcore music for a living.
Resist didn't only just release hardcore music, they released various genres, and it's not a sign of hardcore's demise but a sign of general CD sales numbers and increased competition in the market.

Hardcore Undeground 2: Nov 26th 2007

After a lot of weirdness regarding the release of the hardcore album Hardcore Underground 2 a real instore release date has emerged from retailers as the 26th of November 2007. The album has a rocky start with stock physically not turning up at the stores for reasons unknown. Some stores got stock but according to the Hardcore Underground crew 90% of the stores didn't.

HappyHardcore.com contacted Ministry of Sound to confirm the title of the upcoming 3disc hardcore album due December 26th 2007. According to Ministry of Sound the official title will be:
"Helter Skelter vs Raindance: Rave Nation"
and not Hardcore 2008 as rumored (and listed on some retailer release sheets).
We also got info on the third mystery DJ is, the complete DJ's will be Slipmatt, Billy 'Daniel' Bunter & Nicky Blackmarket.
We had been starting to hear some unofficial rumors about this a few hours ago but we can now confirm that the world's largest hardcore music distributor, Amato distribution is in receivership and closing it's doors.
Amato distributed most of the major selling hardcore labels including, RaverBaby, Essential Platinum, Infinity Recordings, Quosh, Nukeluz, Next Generation & Blatant Beats just to name a few.
What does this mean for hardcore? Well their probally wont be any major vinyl releases coming out until next year since it is so late in the year. We are already hearing workings of something coming to replace Amato or takeover their workings but it is really early to say anything yet as the dust hasn't even settled.
This has happened before in hardcore music when Alphamagic, the former largest hardcore distributor in the world went bankrupt, so hardcore should recover.
Amato distribution distribute any genres of music, including nearly all forms of dance music, their bankruptcy is not a reflection on hardcore music but their how they operated their business.

The 2 disc hardcore album Hardcore Underground 2 was suppose to go on sale yesterday but according to the guys putting to together there has been some problems. In their own words:
I wish I had more information to give. Although the official release date is today, some sort of manufacturing/distributor snafu has left 99% of places without stock currently.
On one hand, they could appear later in the week. More likely, it'll be next Monday.
Hardcore Underground 2 is a 3 disc album mixed by Kurt & Stormtropper Fracus & Al Storm Darwin, Arkitech & NuFoundation and can be ordered direct now!

Release Date: New Helter Skelter Album

Billy Bunter has released information on the new Ministry of Sound Helter Skelter hardcore album due at the end of the year.
According to Bunter MoS will be releasing the same day as last year on boxing day (26th of December 2007).
Confirmed DJ's for the album are Slipmatt and Billy Daniel Bunter plus a new DJ. According to the guys they "have listened to, and read all the comments from the previous 3 years of albums, and we have got some thing very special planned for this one."
The other DJ is "one of the biggest rave dj's of all time" according to Bunter.
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that hardcore soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of raving danced in their heads.
What's all this about? Nukeluz have released the onsale date for Hardcore Adenaline 3 to HappyHardcore.com, December 24 2007!
